Fresh Choice Kitchen: coming to a supermarket near you!
BWG Foods always appear to be ahead of the game when it comes to sustainable food brands and packaging! Well, now they have gone one step further!
The company has just announced the launch of a new range of fresh, quality ready meals, which they plan to roll out across its network of over 1,000 stores nationwide. Retailers in the group include Eurospar, Spar, Mace, Londis and XL stores.
Fresh Choice Kitchen is the partnership with BWG and a number of Irish suppliers to bring a range of quality but affordable fresh and chilled convenience products to our shelves. More importantly, the range will have a specific focus on sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging.
BWG Foods has said that it wants it’s new brand to give its retailers a high-quality compelling offering, allowing them to properly compete with other like products and help them to increase their share of the fast-growing fresh ready-meal market.
The ready meal market today is valued at over €87.5 million in Ireland annually, following growth of almost 7% over the last year.
What’s next for BWG Foods?
BWG Foods is projecting a sales potential of almost €1 million annually for The Fresh Choice Kitchen brand. According to their Chief Commercial Officer, John Moane BWG have big plans to grow the brand through a series of targeted marketing campaigns.
Moane said, “The current pandemic has accelerated the need for retailers to extend their fresh-food offerings, with consumers increasingly searching for quality, ultra-convenient meal solutions.
“A recent survey amongst our retailers showed that 28% of [them] identified the development of new fresh-food offerings as a key investment focus for driving future growth. In addition, price and value were highlighted as becoming even more important to our customers in the immediate future,” Moane added.
Fresh Choice Kitchen has been developed as a highly sustainable brand for the group. They have committed to using locally sourced products wherever possible and they are continuing their push for using only recycling packaging by using recycled meal trays for the new meals. The trays themselves recyclable also.
Great news from BWG Foods – looking forward to trying these new meals for our Saturday night in soon!
